MSVA 2011-2012 Season

The Master Singers is the premiere mixed choral ensemble in Northern Virginia, dedicated to bringing the highest quality choral music to the people of the Washington, D.C. region. Concentrating primarily in 20th- and 21st-century a cappella music, the Master Singers use their concerts to enrich, educate, and entertain their audiences.

A Festival of Lessons and Carols

Together with the ministry of each of three churches, the Master Singers of Virginia will bring you the music and stories of this wonderful season, based on the famous Festival from King's College in Cambridge, England. This concert will feature Paul Mealor's Ubi Caritas, which premiered at the recent Royal Wedding. Click here for details.

Shakespeare of Today

This marvelous and diverse concert features new music by Estonian composer Rene Eespere and the greatest choral masterpiece by two wonderful composers, Jaakko Mantyjarvi's Canticum Calamitatis Maritimae and Benjamin Britten's Hymn to St. Cecilia. The ensemble will also sing a number of jazz-influenced settings of texts by William Shakespeare. Click here for details.
